The 3rd Annual Lavender Festival

Hello Again Friends,

Thank you once again for joining and celebrating lavender with us on August 13, 2006.

The Sunday afternoon was filled with activities while everyone enjoyed the music of Glen MacEachern especially his new song "The Five Sisters of Lavender Lane." The lavender learning centre, hayrides, lavender iced tea and lemonade and of course lavender jelly with Sister Mary Decourseys famous tea biscuits were back for another festival Also a new highlight this year was the homemade lavender ice cream, sure to be a new favorite.

The children's activity corner with all the lavender painted faces and stories of Lucy the fairy. A stroll through the fairy trail beckoned the children to find Lucy at her home, and to name a tree on the trail. The purple ribbons on the trail are still fluttering in the wind.

There was also honey bee and Rekki demonstrations, lavender distilling and fellow Lavender growers from Nova Scotia selling their products to the crowd. All this activity was capitured on tape by the camera crew of the show "On the Road Again."

The festival was a great success, over 1300 visited us and we raised funds for new wheelchairs for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Charlottetown.

We can't wait to do all again and we hope to see you again at the 4th Annual Lavender Festival.

Truly,
The Five Sisters of Lavender Lane
